The Austrian e-commerce start-up Neworn GmbH opens up its first foreign market. On Tuesday, the company, founded in 2023, announced that the online marketplace of the same name for children’s clothing and needs will now also start in Germany.
Users can offer and buy used children’s clothing on the Neworn platform. So-called “B-goods” is also available there. “Neworn works here with labels from all over Europe to trace high and new returns, sample pieces, remaining items from last season or unsuccessful new goods or children’s cars, toys and accessories in the circulation and prevent enormous amounts of garbage,” explained the company in a message.
In order to stand out from the competitors, Neworn claims to be “in specialization, a family community, security and transparency”. Among other things, the platform offers “smart size and product recommendations”.
“We want to make the second-hand purchase of children’s fashion as easy and self-evident as buying a new purchase,” emphasized founder Caroline Schober. The expansion to Germany should only be a first intermediate step. “In the long term, the start-up also has markets such as Poland, the Netherlands or Spain in view,” said Neworn.
