Johan Derksen believes that Arie Boomsma’s children are victims of the ‘idiotic’ videos he makes. “Because they are looked at at school,” says the Today Inside mustache.

The cringe-worthy edifying videos that Arie Boomsma posts on his social media cause an unprecedented amount of annoyance to Johan Derksen. “Have you already greeted a few people today? That’s important, isn’t it, greeting people,” Wilfred Genee shouts in the Today Inside from last night. Johan then: “I know what you’re talking about!”

‘Children victims’

Johan introduces Arie’s video. He says: “I just saw it. Then I think: shouldn’t we send this idiot to professional help? We shouldn’t show those videos anymore, because I also find it very annoying for his children, because they are looked at at school.”

Colleague René van der Gijp then: “Then what we are seeing now must be very bad.”

Wilfred Genee: “Oh, you know, he doesn’t harm anyone with it. You just think to yourself: what should I do with it?”

Greet

We then see Arie speak all kinds of edifying words in his video. “Monday. A new week full of possibilities. This week, try greeting five people from your front door to the workplace, or wherever you travel to every day. Preferably strangers, of course.”

“That is immediately an exercise in selfless greetings, because you have to assume that not everyone is used to this, so not everyone greets back. That should not make you angry or disappointed.”

‘You don’t have to!’

René finds it strange that Arie utters these kinds of texts. “You can’t do it either. You don’t have to record it, You don’t have to.”

Bar guest Bas Nijhuis finds Arie unworldly. “I sometimes walk through Amsterdam and people don’t greet each other, but I think it’s the same with you: if you just walk through the village, everyone says hello when you walk past. Isn’t that normal?”
