“Our eldest’s life hung by a thread. For three hours I was sure he was gone. After that, we lived in uncertainty for a long time whether he would make it,” the 60-year-old singer tells the Belgian newspaper about the accident in South Africa. “Then you enter a space in which you have to rely purely on the child in yourself. I have never felt so many emotions. In retrospect, I think it was about time. You have to interpret fate. You can’t miss it.”
When the singer came home, he said he looked at things in life differently. “With an incredible feeling of happiness that he is still there.”
Stef Bos moved to South Africa years ago, where he met his wife Varenka. They live alternately in South Africa and Flanders.
