The driver of the car that killed a young child on the Noordsingel in Bergen op Zoom on Wednesday night was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This was revealed by a breath and saliva test, the police reported.
Police are still investigating how the accident happened.
It is not known where the driver comes from. It is also still unclear how young the deceased child is.
The collision happened around a quarter past twelve. According to local broadcaster ZuidWest, the Noordsingel has been completely closed to all traffic due to the police investigation.
