Child benefit increased by 20 euros from 1 July | news item

From 1 October, parents will receive an extra €20 per quarter for each child. Child benefit is increased annually in January and July on the basis of the average price development (inflation).

Earlier this month, the cabinet announced that it would withdraw a bill to stop increasing child benefits (indexing) on ​​a regular basis because of the current inflation. That is why the child benefit is ‘normally’ increased twice this year as well.

Child benefit from 1 July 2022

Parents and carers of children up to the age of 17 receive child benefit (AKW). The amount of child benefit has been adjusted as of 1 July 2022 in line with the development of the consumer price. The amounts as of 1 July 2022 are:
