The perpetrators were aiming for a garage door in Nieuwdreef, but there turned out to be a living space behind that door. The child would not have been directly hit by bullets, but would have died as an indirect result of the bullet impacts. Two other people in the living room were also injured. Their injuries, however, would be minor. The street was closed after the incident and the forensic lab and a ballistics expert are on site to make the necessary determinations.
