Mellin will leave the brand, which belongs to the Finnish sporting goods group Amer Sports, on April 1, 2026, he announced on Monday on the career network Linkedin. He took on this position and thus leadership of the brand vision around three years ago.

During this time, he and his team developed a new vision, mission, a new purpose and a common focus, Mellin said in the article. These have resulted in a clear strategy that unites Salomon as a “Modern Mountain Sports Lifestyle” brand.

Various promotions, including product launches at the ultra-trail running series UTMB World Series and Paris Fashion Week, as well as a new retail storytelling concept, were also implemented during this time. Overall, they managed to double awareness in the three years and triple the innovation value of the brand.

Before joining Salomon at the end of 2022, Mellin spent eight years as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the management consultancy Project Aspen, which he founded. Before that, he worked as CEO of the US textile technology specialist Lifelabs. He also worked for the outdoor specialist The North Face, most recently as Global Vice President Mountain Sports.

It is currently unknown what career step Mellin will take next.
