Chelsea quickly equalized after halftime

Luckassen played a leading role in Pafos’ first victory in the Champions League
Derrick Luckassen has starred for his Cypriot club Paphos in the Champions League. The 30-year-old central defender scored the only and winning goal for his team in the home match against the Spanish side Villarreal (1-0). Shortly after half-time, Luckassen headed in Ken Sema’s corner kick.

It was the first victory for Pafos in the first phase of the Champions League. The team previously lost to Bayern Munich and drew against FC Kairat and Olympiacos.
Luckassen has been playing for Pafos since July 2024 and won the club’s first national title last season. The born Amsterdammer played football in the Eredivisie with AZ and PSV.
