Chelsea FC has sold another professional with Renato Veiga (22). The central defender, which was always associated with a change to the Bundesliga, is drawn to Spain to FC Villarreal. At the Laliga Club Veiga signed a contract until June 30, 2032.
According to reports, the basic loss is 24.5 million euros, up to 5 million euros can be added by bonuses – not much is missing from Villareal’s record purchase Paco Alcácer (25 million). The transfer income of the blues increases to a good 256 million euros, Chelsea’s England -wide record mark of EUR 282 million from the 2023/24 season is getting closer. So far, 280 million euros have been booked on the output side this summer.
Veiga only changed from FC Basel to Chelsea a year ago for 14 million euros. After 18 games (two goals), in which he was on the pitch for an average of 65 minutes, he was awarded to Juventus Turin in the second half of the season. There, the former Augsburger was set in the defense center – his preferred position – and increased its market value from 10 million to 25 million euros. He played 15 games for the Bianconeri.
