Facundo Buonanotte’s (21) guest appearance at Chelsea ends early. The offensive player, who hardly got a chance at the Blues, is not returning to his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion, but is moving on to Leeds United in the Premier League. The newcomer also agreed on a loan deal with the Seagulls without a purchase option.
Buonanotte moved from Brighton to Chelsea on Deadline Day in the summer, who paid a loan fee of 2.3 million euros. But the Argentine only played eight games, in which he contributed one goal and two assists. In the Premier League he was only allowed one appearance in the London jersey.
“Facundo wants to play and showed during his loan spell at Leicester City last season what impact he can have in the Premier League when he plays,” said sporting director Jason Ayto, explaining the new loan deal. “This is a great move for everyone involved and we look forward to watching him develop at Leeds United. We wish him all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to welcoming him back in the summer.”
