The free PlayStation Plus games for September 2022

PS Plus subscribers can look forward to three titles again in September. Also included is a title from a well-known series and a real little insider tip. By the way, all content can be called up again this time with the PlayStation 4. But what good are the games? TECHBOOK has summarized reviews and player ratings.

“Need for Speed Heat” already indicates in the title what it’s about: speed. The racing game from the well-known series is only three years old and, in addition to exciting street races, also provides a storyline that is definitely worth playing. Players engage in fast-paced police chases and participate in illegal races over difficult tracks.

The game has a score of 72 from critics, while players rate the PS4 version slightly lower at 6.1. The setting and routes are praised, as is the story. Others, on the other hand, criticize the controls and the limited modes when driving – but absolutely fine for a racing game.

Tome (PS4 and PS5)

This beautifully designed game is all about photography. With the help of photos, the player explores the magical world of TOEM on an expedition. You’ll meet tons of unique characters and piece together their stories.

Critics and players don’t quite agree on this game either, which is available free of charge as part of a PS Plus subscription. While the critics gave a meta score of 80, the adventure game only got a score of 4.7 from the users, but based on six ratings and without stating the reasons. For the Switch, the game gets a much better rating of 6.6, so it could probably have something to do with the controls on the PlayStation.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus (PS4)

Based on the world of the 2018 video game, Granblue Fantasy: Versus delivers an entertaining mix of RPG and fighting game. In the varied battle rounds, it is important to use the abilities of your own character perfectly. In addition, the story mode provides an entertaining little sideline with extra bosses.

With a Metascore of 85, this game is definitely worth checking out, especially if you like intuitive combat systems that scale in difficulty as you go. The soundtrack is also praised.
