In the official poster, Zalone appears in blue suitleaning on a suitcase, on a light background. In the background, a road sign indicates the direction for Santiago de Compostela: an immediate reference to the famous Path followed every year by thousands of pilgrims. The title Good Camino leaves no room for doubt: the journey will be the center of the storyand not just in a geographical sense.
The plot of Good Camino: what we know
From the first previews, the protagonist played by Zalone is a wealthy man, accustomed to a comfortable life without shocks. Everything changes when the teenage daughter disappearsforcing him out of his golden bubble to track her down.
From here begins an unexpected journey along the Camino de Santiagomade of fatigue, particular encounters, blisters, unexpected events and comical situations typical of the Zalone style. But the most interesting dimension is the emotional one: the journey also becomes an opportunity for personal transformationa push to question habits and beliefs.
Comedy, emotion and introspection: Checco Zalone’s formula
This time too, he is directing Gennaro Nunziantehistoric collaborator of the comedian, author together with him of some of the most viewed Italian films of all time. The pair returns to work side by side with a story that promises what the audience expects: laughter, lightness, but also that vein of reflection that in recent years has made Checco Zalone a cultural phenomenon.
In fact, the protagonist’s path seems to join a broader message: the path as a metaphor for growth, change and awareness. Everything, naturally, filtered by the unique comedy of the Apulian actor.
