Charlottenburg district is closing Savignyplatz

Now the district of Charlottenburg is pulling the vandalism ripcord at Savignyplatz.

So that the plants can grow in peace on Savignyplatz, the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office will close off the perennial and lawn areas from Friday.

According to the authorities, the previously small fences were trampled down. The increasing littering of the plant is also a problem. Larger barriers should now allow the green space to regenerate.

“The perennials that were only freshly planted on March 28 were already destroyed in the afternoon or the perennials that had been sprouted had been trampled on, broken glass bottles were left behind as a risk of accidents, the green space was littered,” says a statement.

It is not yet clear how long the fences will remain in place. The district office announces the measure for several weeks.
