Charli XCX is completely obsessed in her latest song – and now us too.

In a black-and-white video accompanying the release of “I Keep on Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” Charli dances through hallways and stairwells before arriving at a dance studio, where she slinks, poses and does seductive choreography. As she repeatedly looks directly at the camera, the clip reflects the lyrics of the melodic, sapphic bop – an inescapable obsession that doesn’t let go 24/7.

“Maybe we can become each other?” she sings in the first line. And further: “I wonder if I just want you as my best friend, or maybe if I’m a really late bloomer.” Later she asks herself, “if I maybe could be gay/But come on, look at me, I’m probably not” and “if you were actually gay/Or if that’s something you just say for your career.” The chorus gets to the heart of the song’s message: “I keep thinking ’bout you every single day/I keep thinking ’bout you every single night.”

Only available on vinyl

In the caption to the video she posted on Saturday Instagram shared, she writes that the song is the B-side to “Rock Music,” which was released at midnight on Thursday. It continues: “I went to Kyoto for six weeks to shoot a film. While we were there, I made this video with Aidan. only available on vinyl & here on b.sides. so rip the audio if you want it xx.”

As for her film career, Charli is currently working on a number of projects: most recently she appeared in Pete Oh’s Erupjca and the Brat mockumentary The Moment. Julia Jackman’s “100 Nights of Hero”, the Gregg Araki-directed “I Want Your Sex”, Cathy Yan’s “The Gallerist” and an as yet untitled film by Takashi Miike are also on her calendar.

The two new songs follow February’s “Wuthering Heights,” the companion album she wrote for Emerald Fennell’s film of the same name. Charli also contributed music to the soundtrack of David Lowery’s “Mother Mary,” and last month, “Party 4 U” from “How I’m Feeling Now” was released as a 7-inch single for Record Store Day.
