Director and screenwriter Charles Shyer has died at the age of 83 on December 27, 2024. Shyer directed and wrote several films known for the roles of strong women. In his career, Shyer collaborated a lot with his ex-wife’s director-writer by Nancy Meyrs with. Shyer practically grew up in the film industry. His father Melville Shyer founded the Directors Guild of America, a trade union for film and television directors in the United States.

The budget used for the film, 9.2 million dollars, turned into a success with an income of 69.8 million dollars. The trio won the Writers Guild of America award for the film’s screenplay.
