Hurley, who has been appointed by the British to represent the monarch in Australia, said the council has a heavy responsibility. “Australia is an unfinished product. It is now entering a new era. Most Australians have never known a world without Queen Elizabeth II, her passing is the end of an era.”

It was also announced that Australia will have a national day of remembrance to mourn the Queen on September 22, three days after Queen Elizabeth’s royal funeral. “I encourage all Australians, wherever you are, to take the time to pause and reflect on the extraordinary life of Her Majesty’s service.”

Welcome to this blog

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday at the age of 96 and after 70 years on the British throne. The UK is currently in a national period of mourning. The Queen will be buried in Westminster Abbey on September 19.

Until then, all sorts of conspiracies are going on in the UK. For example, immediately after the death of his mother king, Charles III was officially appointed to his new position on Saturday morning. That same afternoon, a number of parliamentarians swore allegiance to Charles III.

Elizabeth died at her Scottish holiday home in Balmoral and is currently there. Her body is expected to be taken to Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh later on Sunday and to London on Tuesday.

From Wednesday, Britons can pay a final tribute to their Queen – Queen Elizabeth will be in state in Westminster Hall until her funeral. When the Queen Mother died in 2002, some 200,000 people passed her coffin.
