The king Charles III of England asked “protect the planet” and protect “each other” in their christmas speechin which, however, it did not make explicit reference to the conflict between Israel and Palestine nor did it touch on other issues of relevance in the United Kingdom such as cost of living or the state of sanitary system. The speech was recorded in the main hall of Buckingham Palace, with views of the Queen Victoria Memorial in the background.
Carlos III began his speech by remembering that these dates are an opportunity for families to unite, to remember those who are no longer here and also to remember those who dedicate themselves to help the rest. “Over the past year my heart has been touched by the countless examples in imaginative ways by which people cared of others, going to the limit to help those around them simply because they know it is the right thing to do: at home, at work and in their communities,” the king said.
“My wife and I are delighted that hundreds of representatives of these selfless people could join us at Westminster Abbey for the coronation this year. They are an essential part of our society,” he stated. The monarch, who has never hidden his defense for the environmentas with the practice of ecological agriculture which has been carried out for the last forty years, asked to protect the planet for “being the home we all share.”
“Great inspiration”
“All my life I have been delighted that attention has grown on how we need to protect the planet and our natural world for being the home we all share. I find it a great inspiration that many people recognize this, as the Christmas’ historywhich tells us that the angels carried the message first to the shepherds, because these were the people who lived among other creatures of the Lord.”
