Charles Groenhuijsen is annoyed with his statements about Today Inside. He states that the VI viewers are relatively low-educated compared to his Op1. “This is just misguided elitist thinking.”
He absolutely must not think of ever joining Today Inside: Charles Groenhuijsen. He looks a bit down on the daily program of SBS 6. “I think we have more highly educated people, typically NPO-like viewers. You are of course in a different segment,” he told Wilfred Genee on the radio.
Misplaced elitist
Job Knoester, the criminal defense lawyer who is a regular guest at VI and is incredibly proud of it, thinks Charles is going too far. “If I think about it again, this is misguided elitist thinking,” he said on Twitter.
It is absolutely not true that only low-skilled people watch Today Inside, says Job. “When VI was out for a while through ‘candle gate’, I was almost incessantly addressed in various ways by judges, prosecutors, lawyers, psychologists and psychiatrists that VI had to return.”
Highly educated people
These are not low-educated people, says Job. “To start with, these are indeed highly educated people. What was striking, for example, when I was addressed at the courthouse, was that they first looked around to see if anyone could hear our conversation. Incidentally, I did not see that gene with the court ushers.”
“But more importantly, education tells me that in life someone had the chance to do that education, but there are a lot of people who didn’t get that chance and yet are very intelligent.”
