In the highest Greek football competition, no spectators are allowed until February 12 due to the many riots between fans and violence against the police. The Greek government has decided this. Greek referees, linesmen and other officials previously refused to officiate matches in the national league due to fears for their safety following threats. They are often the target of violent attacks by fans.
