Chaos at Heathrow airport: flights canceled due to ‘baggage crisis’ due to malfunction | Abroad

The malfunction has now been resolved, but the baggage crisis is huge. The airport has therefore decided to cancel more than ninety flights in order to eliminate the backlog.

Due to the staff shortage, there is otherwise not enough manpower to get rid of the suitcase backlog. More than 15,000 passengers have been stranded at the British airport as a result. Travelers who left Heathrow without a suitcase will probably have to wait another two days for their belongings.

The Heathrow baggage crisis is one of the latest in a series of problems at airports. UK and EU airports have long struggled with staff shortages during the peak summer season.
