The owners of camping site De Riënruil will take over the management of the Bosbad in Hoogersmilde from the spring. The municipality of Midden-Drenthe has made agreements about this.
The swimming pool is currently managed by the Hoogersmilde Recreation Foundation. The foundation’s collaboration with the municipality will end on January 1.
According to the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, the swimming pool remains public and therefore accessible to residents. “The Bosbad remains a public facility for residents and tourists, at no cost to the municipality,” says councilor Jan Schipper (CDA). “In the long term, there will even be an indoor swimming, wellness, play and sports facility. Residents will soon be able to use this at a lower price. That is a great added value for the residents of our community.”
The transfer is a long process. Stichting Recreatie Hoogersmilde will therefore be involved for the next two years to ensure everything runs smoothly together with Dorpsbelangen. The plans for the new indoor swimming pool will also have to be further developed.
