It will be hot in Brabant in the coming days. So hot even that we may have to prepare for the first regional heat wave of the year. According to meteorologist Raymond Klaassen from Weerplaza, it is about tensioning.

“It took some getting used to Thursday, because there was actually rain on Brabantse soil. On Friday morning some rain can still fall in the province,” says Klaassen in Omroep Brabant-Radio program Afslag Zuid.

“But tomorrow we will eventually reach temperatures of between 23 and 25 degrees. During the day there is enough room for the sun.”

‘Certain thirties’
And with that on Friday you can become an important day before the weather. For a heat wave there must be five summer days of 25 degrees or more in a row, the temperature of which has to exceed 30 degrees at three days.

But is that also the case? Well, it will indeed get tropical warm in the coming days, says Klaassen. “On Saturday you have to think of about 25 degrees in most places. On Sunday the temperature can rise to 27 to 30 degrees,” he explains.

But on Monday and Tuesday, according to Klaassen are ‘the certain thirties’. Those days are tropical temperatures and are therefore very important for a heat wave.

But if Friday is unable to turn 25 degrees, Wednesday is very important to have a heat wave, Klaassen explains. “It is clear that the heat will be driven out. That will happen somewhere Tuesday and Wednesday. So it’s all about tensioning,” concludes the meteorologist.

Opportunities are increasing
Last weekend there was also a chance of a heat wave, but then the required tropical temperatures were not achieved.

It was already clear then that the chances of heat waves in the province would later remain great due to the warm weather and the persistent drought.
