The new season in the Champions League begins – and the defending champion is not even during the summer break.
While Paris St. Germain plays the title at the club World Cup in the USA, the first teams are already starting in the most important European football club competition.
The first round of qualification for the premier class starts on Tuesday, with teams such as Sweden’s representative Malmö FF, Vikingur Göta from the Faroe Islands or FC Differdingen 03 from Luxembourg.
The way to the main round is far. The second and third qualification round follow before the tickets for the leagueaps with 36 teams are awarded in the playoffs at the end of August.
From September 16 to September 18, the first match day of the leagueapse will take place, in which Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund are also represented.
The final of the Champions League will take place in Budapest on May 30 of the next year.
