13 goals, twists, surprising heroes, high tension, football over 210 minutes at the highest technical and tactical level: Inter Milan and FC Barcelona have put a semi -finals in the Champions League that will remain unforgettable. Where there was a winner with Inter, but in which everyone who saw these two games plus extension won.

Sebastian Hochrainer

First of all, a small disillusionment: This text wants to describe the spectacle between FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, but that will not be possible. Anyone who loved football, but this affection has lost much too high money sums, maximum discutable investors and other mushrooms through overloaded game plans, your heart should have felt as before these sport rightly make this sport.

If you haven’t seen these two games, you should take the trouble to catch up. The result is known, Inter is in the final – nevertheless every minute of this feature film is worth overhang.

FC Barcelona and Inter Milan – complete different Champions

There are football worlds between Barca and Inter. On the one hand, the predominantly young ensemble from the best talents in the world that are on the way to become world stars or are even already. On the other hand, pot football players who were never individually at the highest level, but have won so much in their careers and know exactly what they have to do – and that have all qualities to do exactly that.

Barca is the sharpest blade in football, under coach Hansi Flick the Catalans play a football to kneel down. High -risk with this absurd high line of defense, so fine and at the same time dominant with Frenkie de Jong and Pedri in midfield, so spectacularly with lamine yamal, in which it is not an over -ziding to see the new Lionel Messi in it.

The epitome of the “Mental monster”

In contrast, Inter is the Swiss pocket knife. The “Nerrazurri” can do anything. In nothing, they are perfectly like Barca on the ball, for example, but so much in so much that they can beat every team in the world. Inter can defend with a beer rest, be scary dirty, is strong with standards. The team of coach Simone Inzaghi also has their football highlights like before Federico Dimarco’s 1-0 in the second leg or with Marcus Thuram’s leadership with the hoe in the first leg.

Where Inter and Barca are very similar: they have the mentality – or new German: the mindset – of a champion. The flick team was 0: 2 in both games and came back. Milan stood out a few minutes and scored the 3: 3 for extra time shortly before the final whistle. It was one of the many moments that left you back positively stunned.

Acerbi, Dumfries, Garcia – The not expected heroes

This story also includes that there were many heroes who were very far back on the contender’s list. Francesco Acerbi shot Inter into the extra time – 37 years old, central defender. He had testicular cancer (healed). The treatment gave him a positive doping test and briefly a lock that was lifted again. There are allegations of racism from March 2024 that have never been verified, but have cost him a nomination for the national team. Acerbi writes so many stories and there was another one.

Or Eric Garcia, who headed Barca back into the game as a right -back, although he should never actually play because Jules Koundé (missing injured) is otherwise traveling there as a ultimate. Dani Olmo headed the equalization, whose transfer posses (association and league want to withdraw the gaming permit because of the club’s financial situation) was the only disturbance topic of the outstanding barca season. Yann Sommer, whose last impression in Germany was the failure at Bayern, is now the hero of Milan.

And then there is probably the most decisive player who is probably not so much of the ramp light. In the first leg he played six passes, but managed to score two goals and prepare one. In the second leg, he also made two goals, so he was the most effective player of the 210-minute spectacle with five direct goal participations. We are talking about Denzel Dumfries, who is the symbol of inter-success. Not often to see, but always there when it has to be.

The injustice But football remains

Barcelona was primarily responsible for the spectacle, but Milan was just as important for the overall package with its cold -nepot, combat power and unpredictability. The two teams fought each other and they complemented each other. It is not much more coherent than the picture that this duel has drawn. It was a Champions League symphony, the most goal-rich semi-finals in the history of the premier class.

It was galactic. But it was also unfair how football is. There was the cheers and tears of joy, but also tears of disappointment and faces of horror. Something that was not deserved that was involved in this event. This text had many words, but actually only one thing remains to be said: Grace! Gracias!
