Champions League – Before Villarreal: Kimmich and Davies in Bayern training

Munich (dpa) – FC Bayern Munich played almost the entire squad in the final training session before the Champions League game at FC Villarreal.

Only Frenchman Corentin Tolisso, who was injured again in his thigh, and attacker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (corona infection) were missing from the training session before leaving for Spain on Tuesday at the club premises in Munich.

National soccer player Joshua Kimmich was on the pitch after the birth of his third child, as was Canadian Alphonso Davies. It was initially unclear whether the full-back would be part of the squad again for the first time after an inflammation of the heart muscle this Wednesday (9 p.m.) in Villarreal. Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann recently promised a Davies comeback for the second leg on April 12 in Munich.

Bayern are the favorites to go into a knockout duel with the Spanish Europa League winners. The winner meets Liverpool FC or Benfica Lisbon in the semi-finals.
