A late header goal from national soccer player Lea Schüller at AS Roma gives the FC Bayern women further hope of reaching the knockout phase in the Champions League.

The late goal came in the sixth minute of stoppage time. Three minutes earlier, the Romans had made it 2-1 after a sharp cross from Manuela Giugliano.

Schüller had already made it 1-1 for FC Bayern (87th). After a bad pass in the Bayern women’s build-up game, AS Roma took the lead for the first time in the 33rd minute through Valentina Giacinti in what ended up being a thrilling game. The 30-year-old striker flicked the ball over Bayern goalkeeper Maria Luisa Grohs into the corner.

With six points, the German champions still have a chance of progressing before the last group game against Paris St. Germain.
