Red Bull Munich had an evening to forget in the Champions Hockey League and is about to be eliminated.
The leader of the German Ice Hockey League conceded a 1:5 (0:3, 0:2, 1:0) against the Swiss champions EV Zug in the round of 16 first leg in their own arena after a false start, so progression is hardly possible.
Munich was already 0:3 behind after 13 minutes, Brian O’Neill (7th), Dario Simion (8th) and Peter Cehlarik (14th) scored. Sven Senteler (23rd) and Cehlarik (38th) increased, Filip Varejcka (45th) was able to shorten in front of 4283 spectators.
“1:5 is tough. But we won’t give up, we’ll try to turn the result around,” said the Munich goal scorer.
