Specifically, clubs ranked 9th to 16th are in the playoffs as seeded, those ranked 17th to 24th as unseeded. Based on their ranking, the seeded clubs, in pairs, were paired with unseeded clubs as follows: club 9 or 10 against club 23 or 24, club 11 or 12 against club 21 or 22, club 13 or 14 against club 19 or 20 and club 15 or 16 against club 17 or 18. The draw serves to determine which of the two possible opponents will face every top seed. The winners of the playoffs will then challenge the 8 teams that qualified directly to the round of 16
