Maria Timofeeva became the singles champion at the Istanbul Open Tennis Tournament.


In the singles final of the organization organized by the Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF) at the TTF Istanbul Tennis Training Center at the WTA 125 level, where 76 tennis players from 19 countries competed, the number 1 seed of the tournament, Croatian Donna Vekic, and the number 6 seed, Uzbek Maria Timofeeva, faced each other.


In the match that lasted 1 hour and 31 minutes, Timofeeva won the championship by defeating Vekic, who reached the final without losing a set throughout the tournament, 2-0 with sets of 6-4, 6-2.


With this result, the Özbek racket achieved the first championship of her career at the WTA 125 level.


At the ceremony held after the final competition, TTF President Şafak Müderrisgil and Mercedes-Benz Automotive Chief Executive Officer Şükrü Bekdikhan presented the cups to the athletes. Plaques were also given to those who contributed to the tournament.
