The resolution concerns all animals on the ‘A-list’ and some animals on the ‘B-list’ of the European regulation regulating trade in wild animal species. This concerns, for example, tigers† leopards† mountain zebras† Asian elephants† rhinoceroses and polar bears†
According to initiator Kris Verduyckt (Vooruit), Climate Minister Zakia Khattabi (Ecolo) can, with the resolution in hand, stop issuing import licenses for those hunting trophies. The Vooruit MP hopes that a European ban will follow soon.
