Transfermarkt has added another historic season to the database. The Challenge League, the second division in Malta, is now available up to and including the 2014/15 season with all the relevant information.
Pembroke Athleta FC won the championship with Argentinian playmaker and top scorer Ariel Laudisi, who scored 16 goals in 23 appearances. St Andrews FC finished second, just four points behind, and were also early promoted to the first-class Premier League.
An exciting battle ensued for third place. With Melita FC only drawing against St Andrews on the last day of the game, Gzira United FC equalized on points and forced a decider with a 2-0 win over Lija Athletic FC. Gzira won 4-3 after a penalty shoot-out and has been playing in the first division without a break ever since.
