Agarekum landed in the Jan Breydel Stadium last summer and soon grew into a strong holder in the midfield of Cercle. In total, the Ghanais played 44 games at the people of Bruges this season, in which he recorded two goals and two assists. At the end of March he also made his debut with the Ghanaian national team, in the World Cup qualifying match against Chad.
