CEO of insurer ASR: ‘If this continues, insurance will become unaffordable’

Insurer ASR is counting on a loss of 40 to 60 million euros after the recent storms, which, according to the Association of Insurers, caused at least 500 million in damage to homes, cars and business premises. ASR CEO Jos Baeten warns that premiums will skyrocket if the Netherlands does not drastically reduce CO2 emissions. “If this continues, insurance will become unaffordable.”
