Céline Dion at the 2024 Grammy Awards: how is she, look, Taylor Swift

Céline Dion went to the 2024 Grammy Awards. And it was the surprise of the evening. By the time Taylor Swift received Album of the Year for the fourth time (for Midnights), the return of the Canadian star after more than a year’s absence from the scene has warmed up hearts. The singer was greeted with long applause. «Thank you all, I love you. You are gorgeous,” she began, “when I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it, from the bottom of my heart». Then, a short message addressed to colleagues present in the audience to remind everyone of the importance of gratitude.

«Those who were fortunate enough to be here at the Grammy Awards should never take for granted the immense love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people in every part of the world,” he said. Afterwards, she continued: «It is with great joy that I present the same Grammy Award that two legends – Diana Ross and Sting – presented to me 27 years ago».

The reference is to the category that represents: best album of the year. The winner was Taylor Swift, winner for the fourth time. The news, however, is not so much Swift’s further triumph as Céline’s return. At the end of 2022 on Instagram announced that she was suffering from a rare disease and that she would be taking a break to find the right treatment.

The illness and the hopes of seeing her again on stage soon

The pathology that affected her is stiff man syndrome, which originates in the central nervous system and which blocks the muscles. The situation showed no signs of improving and it was even thought that she would never perform in public again.

So tour canceled until 2024 and alarmed fans. To give support to this theory, the statements of her sister Claudette, according to which Céline no longer controlled her muscles.

Despite the bad news something has changed, because last November Céline Dion attended a hockey match in Las Vegas – his first public appearance – to lend his support to the Montreal Canadiens, who faced the Vegas Golden Knights. His appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards bodes well. And who knows, maybe he won’t be singing again soon.

Céline Dion snubbed by Taylor Swift?

Immediately after the awards ceremony, on social media Taylor Swift has been accused of snubbing Céline Dion. Once she got on stage, in fact, she hugged her work group and then approached Dion only later. Furthermore, he grabbed the prize from his colleague’s hands and then approached the microphone without sparing her a glance.

An unpleasant and unremarkable attitude that did not go unnoticed and which attracted a lot of criticism. Not bad, because if there was an argument, peace – at least the public one – it was enshrined shortly afterwards backstage with a shot in which the two hug each other happily.
