Female employees who give birth earlier than expected often lose a few days of maternity leave. Unlike self-employed workers, employees are not allowed to take the compulsory seven-day prenatal rest after childbirth, even if their baby was born earlier than expected. CD&V MP Nahima Lanjri has submitted a bill to eliminate this inequality.
