CCOO and UGT of Catalonia have convened a strike for December 15 and 16 for the 60,000 workers of cleaning services for public and private buildings and premises in Catalonia.

Union sources have explained that the call comes before the “blockade” in the negotiations of the new Catalan sectoral agreementafter the previous one expired in January.

They ask to include clauses of Salary review in the new agreement so that wages rise “gradually and fairly”, as well as that part-time discontinuous permanent employees are subject to specific activities.

They also demand that the workers subject to this contractual model have right to unemployment since, if they are not nine months in a job, they cannot access the benefit.
