A mountain of technical gadgets and AI tools plays the Dutch exam market. Between 2022 and 2025, the CBR almost doubled the number of people caught during a theory exam on wearing small cameras, earphones or other gadgets with which someone on the other side of the line topped. “And this is just the tip of the iceberg,” fears CBR boss Alexander Pechtold. This development also leads to the necessary challenges among students. New research by Student Platform Stuvia shows that 28 percent of the students have sometimes obtained a profession with the help of AI, without teachers being aware of this. Around 24 percent even say they do work that they do not understand themselves.
