The cause of death of Victoria Jones, the daughter of Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones, has been announced.
Official information from the coroner’s office
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco, California, said on Tuesday, February 17, that Victoria died from the “toxic effects of cocaine” and classified the manner of death as “accidental.”
Victoria was reportedly found lifeless at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on New Year’s Day. In a statement shared with ROLLING STONE at the time, the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed that it had responded to a “report of a medical emergency.” “Upon arrival, fire department paramedics conducted an examination,” the statement said. “The individual was pronounced dead.”
Family and early film appearances
Victoria was one of two children Jones had with his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. The couple was married from 1981 to 1996 and also had a son, Austin, who is 43 years old.
Victoria’s family released a statement following her tragic death at the age of 34. “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time,” the family’s statement said.
Appearances in her father’s films
At a young age, Victoria appeared in several of her father’s films. She had a cameo in Men in Black II and appeared in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which Jones also directed. She also had a small role in the 2005 film “Sorry, Haters” and appeared in an episode of “One Tree Hill.” Her last screen appearance was in 2014’s The Homesman, which Jones also directed and starred in.
