Cause of death clear! Investigations into the Matthew Perry case closed

Toxicology testing and an autopsy determined the “Friends” star’s death was an accident.

There is certainty about how “Friends” star Matthew Perry died. That’s why the case was closed. As the Los Angeles Police Department announced according to People, the investigation into the actor’s initially unclear death has now been discontinued.

The responsible medical examiner will also no longer investigate Perry’s death. Toxicology testing and an autopsy revealed that Perry fainted and ultimately drowned due to “acute effects of ketamine.” An opioid painkiller (buprenorphine) was also found in the blood. Coronary heart disease, which was indicated in the report, could also have contributed to the mime’s death.

Perry’s death was ruled an accident in the report presented by Los Angeles authorities in December.

On October 28th, the actor of perhaps the most famous US sitcom was found lifeless in the whirlpool of his home. He was pronounced dead on the spot. There was no evidence of a crime or suicide. As is usual in such cases, a full investigation into the cause of death was launched and has now been fully completed.

Matthew Perry opened up about his drug addiction

In the past, Matthew Perry has made no secret of his long-standing addiction problems. In his autobiography, Friends, Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing, he gave harrowing details, but also suggested that he had largely overcome these difficulties. His series colleagues also confirmed that he has been doing well in the last few months. Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston told Variety that she spoke to him on the phone the morning before the actor died. “He had no pain and no problems,” she said.

Shortly after Perry’s death, however, “TMZ” reported that prescription medication had been found in his home.
