The Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein is dedicating its own exhibition to the catwalk next year.
The exhibition “Catwalk!” takes a look behind the scenes of fashion shows and shows how this presentation format has developed, according to the museum website.
The exhibition goes back in time to 1900 and provides insights into the beginnings in the couturiers’ salons. From there it goes to breathtaking shows from the 21st century to the present day, where some collections are presented exclusively digitally. The era of supermodels, catwalk photography and diversity are also part of the exhibition.
The “Catwalk!” is visualized. with film and photo recordings, collection items, invitations and stage props from fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Chanel, Comme des Garçons, Dior, Gucci, Helmut Lang, Hussein Chalayan, Martin Margiela, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent.
“Catwalk!” can be seen from October 25, 2025 to February 15, 2026 at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
