The BAFTA film gala was organized for the 79th time in London on Sunday. BAFTA, or British Academy Film Awards, rewards the best films from around the world.

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson One Battle After Another won no less than six awards during the evening. It was nominated in a total of 14 different categories. The work won the awards for best film and best director. In addition, Sean Penn won the best supporting actor award for his performance in the film.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio One Battle After Another additionally won awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, Editing and Cinematography.
A horror film that won three awards Sinners was also among the winners of the evening. It was nominated in no less than 13 categories. Wunmi Mosaku won herself the best supporting actress award from the film team. The film also won the awards for best original score and screenplay.
One Battle After Another and Sinners are both in the running for the 2026 Oscar nominations.
The best actor award went to Robert Aramayo for his role in the film I Swear. The BAFTA Award for Best Actress, on the other hand, was awarded to Jessie Buckley for her role in the film Hamlet. The film in question was nominated in 11 different categories and also won the award for best British film.
