Catherine Keyl never got along well with Viola Holt, with whom she presented The 5 Hour Show. That makes it a bit uncomfortable for her to respond to her death.
Things have never really worked out between Catherine Keyl (79) and Viola Holt (76). The two alternately presented The 5 Hour Show with each other in the 1990s, but were polar opposites on a personal level. They couldn’t stand each other, and that now makes it a bit awkward for Catherine to respond to Viola’s death.
Flamboyant Viola
What does it do to Catherine that Viola is no longer there? “It is extremely sad for Peter and the children. She died much too young. I will always remember Viola as a characteristic, flamboyant woman,” she says to the Story.
The senior presenter acknowledges that they were not the best of friends. “Everyone always continued to see us as a couple, even though we never presented anything together. We didn’t even see each other at editorial meetings. We were two very different presenters.”
In a restaurant
When was the last time Catherine saw Viola? “We haven’t seen each other in the past five or six years. The last time was in a restaurant, but we didn’t say anything to each other then either.”
She said she was open to a reconciliation. “Various media asked a few times if we wanted to talk to each other. I always said yes. But in the end it never happened!”
