Catherine Keyl is quite shocked by the latest statements that Jan Slagter has made about her. She states that he is a lying man. “He tells all kinds of lies about me.”
It is no secret that Catherine Keyl and Jan Slagter had quite a disagreement with each other after their relatively short-lived collaboration. Although the elderly presenter clearly has qualities, he no longer wants to give her a spot at his senior broadcaster MAX. And while there is a spot available, namely that of complaining aunt Martine van Os.
Lies
Catherine thinks that’s lame. She listened to Jan’s radio interview in Wilfred Genee’s radio show and is quite pissed off at the broadcaster. “I would like to present Time for MAX. But I don’t think Jan Slagter is interested in that.”
She’s really starting to get tired of Jan. “In recent years he has told all kinds of lies about me in The Friday Move, Wilfred Genee’s radio program. I have no idea what he has against me. Nothing ever happened between us.”
Not true
Twenty years ago, Catherine created the talk show MAX & Catherine for his broadcaster. She stopped taking this because of bouts of diarrhea. “Jan now claims on the radio that I never came up with a program proposal again after that. That is patently untrue.”
What then? “I sent him messages with various proposals. He never responded to that,” she says.
‘That’s not right!’
Jan’s claim that other broadcasters are also not interested in Catherine is also incorrect, according to her. “That is also not true. I regularly sit at talk show tables. Whether it was at SBS 6, Business Class by Harry Mens or the talk show Op1. And then he also says that I’m dissing him. I haven’t spoken to him in ten years.”
Still, she continues to hope for a place at MAX. “He will have a female director next to him. Perhaps that will provide more balance.”
