TV enemies Catherine Keyl and Jan Slagter have ended up in a ruthless argument with each other at the talk show table of rioter Renze Klamer. “You told three lies about me!”

Catherine Keyl and Jan Slagter could not handle or see each other, but recently they have been very lashing out at each other in the media. Long story short: Catherine once made his Omroep MAX big with her talk show, but the pressure was too high, causing her to have watery diarrhea attacks, after which he dropped her hard.

Diarrhea by Jan

Jan could of course have taken that complaint of work stress seriously, but he had stepped on his toes and did not accept her proposal for a slightly lower broadcast frequency. The broadcaster replaced her with Loretta Schrijver. “The program is much more fun with her!”, he then sneered, very falsely.

Jan was very concerned about it, because Catherine was often criticized by him in the years that followed. Small problem: two years later Loretta also left, but she was too late and suffered a burnout. Even though unsuitable, Jan concluded: “Loretta simply cannot carry such a show. She doesn’t have the personality or skills for that.”

Flared up

Their argument has flared up recently because Jan said all kinds of mean things about Catherine in Wilfred Genee’s radio show, for example that he never saw her proposal again and that no one else wanted her either. It’s all so unnecessary and, according to her, contained rant moreover, several lies.

Renze Klamer smells sensation and pitted the two against each other last night on his talk show – Delicious. Apparently they did not know that they would be sitting at the table. “Now I don’t want to start a riot or anything, but I have read some nasty things about the two of you in recent weeks. About Catherine and Jan,” the presenter begins.

Catherine is shocked

Catherine is shocked; he doesn’t want to argue on TV at all. “You think he is lying and that he has said things that are incorrect about programs at MAX,” Renze challenges her. She then said: “Oh. Yes…”

Renze: “Yes, you say: ‘I like it when something crazy happens’, then you can get it too!”

Catherine: “Then I’ll seize my chance, you thought.”

Renze: “Where is that exactly?”

Catherine: “Yes, I actually don’t think we should…”

Jan: “Well, I want to say it calmly… I didn’t even know we had anything against each other…”

Three lies

Catherine agrees. “Me neither, by the way…”

Nonsense, Jan objects. “Yes, but you said: ‘Jan Slagter is bashing me’, you had said that somewhere. Then I thought: oh?! What I can remember… The last time we really spoke was at Rust Wat, in a restaurant.”

Catherine: “That was a very long time ago. Yes, but that’s not what it’s about at all… It’s about…”

Jan: “Yes, but that is my experience…”

Catherine: “Yes, but you were with Wilfred Genee and you just said three things about me, all three of which were lies. I had a little trouble with that.”

‘Left myself!’

Jan wants Catherine to mention it. “What then?”

Catherine: “That I had never come up with a program proposal… Wilfred asked why I no longer worked at MAX…”

Jan: “Because you left yourself!”

Catherine: “Yes, that’s not true. I said: ‘I don’t want to do it every day anymore’, because my health was bothering me at the time, but I wanted to do a program every now and then, and then you said: ‘Come with a proposal.’ Then I texted you three times, you never responded and then you just say: ‘She never came up with a proposal.’”

“I just don’t think that’s okay.”

Don’t remember

Jan then pretends he doesn’t know. “Well, I couldn’t remember.”

Catherine (78) to Jan, eight years younger: “Yes, you sometimes have that when you get older.”

Jan: “Yes, that is indeed true, yes. I have. Maybe you will also get that situation where you don’t remember for a while. It can happen.”

Renze: “So you said that and it’s not true.”

Jan: “Yes, you know, I can’t remember that.”

Catherine: “Yes, but you just say that in a broadcast like that.”

Vacancy

Jan remains stubborn. “Yes, but if I can’t remember, I’m not going to say I do. That’s one. Two: if we really have a vacancy, Catherine… You can say: ‘I still want to make a program’, but then there has to be something there.”

Catherine: “Yes, but that is already completely over.”

Jan: “Yes, but you were talking about that.”

Catherine: “Well… Let’s stop talking about it too.”

Jan: “Every program proposal is welcome, I have nothing against you, you have been important to MAX, I have also said that in interviews, from: MAX & Catherine, that that was a very important start for the start of Omroep MAX, so I gave you that credit, I’ll give it to you again, but I don’t remember us really having anything and that bashing… Okay.”

‘By Wilfred!’

Catherine denies that she has been angry with Jan for a long time. “That was only because of that broadcast by Wilfred Genee, nothing else.”

Jan: “Yes, but that is Wilfred. That’s Genee, dude.”

Catherine fiercely: “No, you said that! Wilfred is okay!”

Jan: “Yes, but I can’t remember.”

Renze: “If you say: ‘I never heard from her’, and she did, then you can at least say sorry?”

Catherine: “Yes! I think so too.”

No apologies

That goes a bit too far for Jan. “Yes, but that… If that is the case… I checked my texts…”

Catherine waved away: “Yes, you said that.”

Jan: “We had text message contact recently. You now say: pff, but he (Renze, ed.) starts talking about it, right?”

Catherine: “Yes, not me!”

Renze laughing: “Yes, you said: ‘I like predictable television!’ Then you ask for it!”

Jan to Catherine: “No hard feelings.

She decides: “No.”
