Catering entrepreneur Martijn B. is prosecuted for seducing an underage girl

43-year-old Martijn B. from Heemsteden must appear in court for seducing an underage girl to perform sexual acts. The Public Prosecution Service confirms this. The hearing date has not yet been set.

B. was previously arrested by the police on suspicion of abusing two underage girls in Club June, which he owns. He’s no longer stuck. According to a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service, the file has now been studied and there is insufficient evidence in the second case. That case is therefore dismissed.

The catering entrepreneur is now being prosecuted for one sexual offence. It is not yet known when the case will be filed, the spokesperson explains: “Because he is not in pre-trial detention, we have less to do with deadlines. The case will be filed when there is room in the court’s schedule.”

Three nightclubs in the entertainment area

Martijn B. owns three nightclubs in the Smedestraat in the center of Haarlem: Club June, karaoke bar Shibuya and cocktail bar NIP. These businesses have been closed since May of this year, after Mayor Wienen revoked B.’s catering permit. This happened after the police discovered several violations in Club June.

These police reports did not only concern sexual misconduct. Minors were also allowed into the club to purchase alcohol, and there were several reports of aggression by club security guards. But these reports are not part of the lawsuit.
