It was the Lazio player Danilo Cataldi who won the 2026 Renato Cesarini Award: his, after 102 minutes and 36 seconds of play in Lazio-Turin (3-3 on 5 October), the latest goal of the recently concluded 2025-2026 Serie A championship. Among the many prestigious names in sport and information present in Jesi to celebrate the figure of Renato Cesarini and the award that bears his name, also those of two legends of Italian football such as Gianni Rivera and Marco Tardelli, signatures of the two most iconic goals in the entire history of the Italian national team: Rivera’s 4-3 in the “match of the century”, the 4-3 of Italy-West Germany, World Cup semi-final in Mexico 1970, and Tardelli’s 2-0 in the final of Spain 1982, won 3-1 by the Azzurri again over the German selection.
Among others, to liven up the debate around the present and future of Italian football, the presence of the national president of the Coaches Association Renzo Ulivieri, of the former Juventus defender and now coach (collaborator of Antonio Conte in the national team) Massimo Carrera, of the former Lazio player and now coach Angelo Gregucci, who reserved a moving memory for the figure of Piemario Morosini, whom he coached in Vicenza.
