Casper Ruud is currently one of the best tennis players in the world. Now the Norwegian gave an insight into his private life and announced great news.
Joyful news from the world of tennis: Casper Ruud, the current number twelve in the world, has announced on Instagram that he and his partner Maria Galligani expect offspring. “The team is growing,” wrote the Norwegian under a black and white photo on which he can be seen together with the Italian and the common dog. Ruud puts the hand on Galligani’s stomach. Both shine.
The 26-year-old also revealed the child’s gender. “We’ll see you next year, little girl,” wrote Ruud. He also posted a second photo that clarified the upcoming birth of the daughter again. This time only the little dog of the couple is shown. He sits next to a series of ultrasound images and a pair of baby shoes with rosa grinding.
The reactions were not long in coming. Numerous colleagues from the tennis circus congratulated Ruud. “Congratulations !!”, wrote the Canadian Denis Shapovalov, while Alejandro Davidovich Fokina commented: “Wow, congratulations on both of you” and the post with a red heart emoji. Stars such as 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal as well as Holger Rune and Tommy Paul also contacted warm words.
Ruud, who was already in the final of a Grand Slam tournament three times in his career, should not only focus on his sporting success in the near future, but also on a new chapter in private life. In the coming year he will not only be challenged on the tennis court, but also as a freshly baked father. He has been with Galligani since 2018. The couple foke out last year.
