During the crocus holiday even the number of tourists doubled that made a day trip to Middelkerke from other seaside resorts such as Nieuwpoort, De Panne, Koksijde and Ostend. In total, more than 100,000 visitors came from another coastal municipality to the city, a clear indication of the attraction of the new casino.
