Carven has appointed Mark Thomas as Design Director.

The French fashion brand confirmed Thomas’s appointment on Sunday on the social network Instagram. In a short statement, the brand said that its team “continues to build on the existing foundations and further refine the codes and the style of the house”.

Thomas has been with Carven since June 2023. He originally joined the company as head of tailoring and creative cooperation. Before that, he was a design director for the Men’s Show and global collaborations at Lacoste for almost four years. Before that, Thomas held a number of significant positions in various fashion houses, including as a creative director at Helmut Lang, Head Designer for Menswear at Joseph and Head Designer at Givenchy. He also gained experience with Burberry and Neil Barrett.

The promotion of Thomas near Carven follows the separation of the label from his previous creative director Louise Trotter in December 2024. Trotter’s last collection for the house was presented in January during Paris Fashion Week.

Under the direction of Thomas, Carven will now continue his way – but in what form it remains to be seen. In the short contribution, the label only explained: “In accordance with the future activities of Carven, information is given in due course. The next Paris show is planned for the spring/summer collection 2026. ”
