Two cars crashed into each other on the Sorghvlietlaan in Veendam on Friday evening near the Tropiqua swimming pool.
One of the cars ended up in the median strip. Eyewitnesses say at least one person was taken to hospital.
Nothing is known about the cause of the collision. The road was temporarily closed in both directions.
